Snake gourd with dal recipe. Peel cut the snake gourd into thin half rounds and remove the inner seeds. Heat the oil in a small pan add the snake gourd seeds and saute till they turn soft. Heat around 1 tbsp oil in a kadai.

Add dry red chillies cumin seeds and asafoetida. Take washed moong dal in a sauce pan. Soak chana dal for 30 minutes.

Wash ad chop snake gourd into small pieces. Pressure cook chana dal along with turmeric powder sliced onion green chillies tomatoes and salt till 3 whistle in low flame. Splutter mustard seeds Urad dal cumin seeds curry leaves.

Cook till both are cooked well remember not to overcook till snake gourd is mashy. Cover with a lid and let it cook for 15 to 20 mins. Dont brown Now add the snake gourdand mix well.

Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds urad dal allow it to crackle. Add snake gourd cumin powder coriander powder little salt and mix it. Heat oil in a pressure cooker base.

Serve hot garnished with coriander. This Pudalangai Kootu recipe very easy to make. You can serve this recipe with Rice or Chapati.

Wash the Moong dal and soak in water for 30 mins. Add 114 cups water and cook on medium flames for 2 whistles. Once it reaches a boil add in chopped up snake gourd and mix well.

Step 02 Once the chana dal is half done add chopped snake gourd chilli powder turmeric powder and pressure cook till 2-3 whistle. Place lid and cook it on slow flame for 3-4 minutes. Now take the grinding ingredients in a mixer and blend it to a smooth puree.

In a pressure cooker add moong dal slice snake gourd crushed ginger garlic. Then add thick coconut milk salt. When cumin seeds turn brown.

After 3 minutes add chana dal mix and cook for 2 minutes with lid on it. Stir fry for 2 mins. Once dhal is cooked halfway add sliced snake gourd.

Pour this tempering on the dal sprinkle the salt chilli powder and mix well. Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds onions salt curry leaves green chillies ginger garlic paste turmeric powder and saute it for 30 seconds. Add onion curry leaves chilli and fry till translucent.

Pressure cook the dal and the snake gourd in enough water and keep aside. I hope you try this recipe and let me know in the comments do.
